Doubles positions: who's front, who's back
The main points in 30 seconds
Who plays front, who plays back, and why every shot in doubles is played with the partner in mind.
- Don't lift unless you must: a lift hands the attack to the opponents.
- The front player takes the shuttle at the net and covers it — then the opponents can only lift.
- Before hitting, see where the opponents stand and hit into the space, not just 'faster'.
- Think of your partner: if they can't get into position, play a block or a high clear to give them time.
- After serving, get the racket up at once and look to take the next shuttle.
